Bill Muir is one of the most experienced recreational skippers on West Australian waters. He has spent over five decades exploring the coast line and river systems, on both motor and sail boats.
An avid boater and fisherman, Bill is the preferred Skippers Ticket Accreditor for both Curtin and University of Western Australia and is allied to Challenger Tafe.
Bill's time on the water commenced with the purchase of a cadet dinghy 1950 which he sailed competitively from East Fremantle Melville Yacht Club then progressing on to heavy weight sharpies, hornets, dragons, and cruisers. He has competed for many years in regattas, ocean and river races.
Bill owns and operates a Savage Lancer runabout for the practical component of the assessment. He has an intimate knowledge of coastal waters from Mandurah to Hillaries inclusive of Rottnest, Garden, and Carnac Islands. In recent years, he has pursued top and bottom fishing at Rosemary Island, Shark Bay, Exmouth, Coral Bay and Kalbarri several times a year.
He has coached and accredited many experienced and novice recreational boaters since he commenced trading as Skippers Ticket WA in 2006.
